Spring Water Well Dig & Discovery –Casa Cavu

We started the process by having a "water witch" come out to determine the best spot for the well. Yes this is a real thing in Costa Rica, he finds water underground by using dowsing rods.

Once the spot was determined, our team began digging the well. After about 8m, water began to seap through the walls of the well. We dug the well a total depth of 16m making total capacity 32m2 -or- 32,000 liters -or- 7,043 gallons. An average household of 4 uses about 400 gallons per day.

Once the well was dug, we lowered in concrete culvert pipes interlocking them with concrete the entire depth.

The well is capped, a submersible pump is lowered into the water about 10ft below the surface which will pump water to a holding tank to be used as needed,
